The Sacramento Valley Tenants Union is part of the Autonomous Tenants Union Network (ATUN-RSIA). All union members are therefore expected to find agreement with ATUN’s Points of Unity.
As an autonomous tenant union, our activities are primarily funded by member dues. We do not have paid staff, and all labor is performed voluntarily and in solidarity with tenants in struggle everywhere. Dues money is used to pay for materials for our campaigns, food for meetings, equipment such as radios for simultaneous multi-lingual translation of meetings, hosting our website, P.O. box, etc.
Members of the Sacramento Valley Tenants Union are expected to pay dues according to the following sliding scale. Members are assumed to have acted in good faith when choosing an appropriate dues commitment. No member will ever be expected to provide proof of unemployment, debt, etc.
Unhoused: $0/month
Unemployed, employed but in debt, or formerly incarcerated: $1-5/month
Employed: $5-whatever you want/month
